How long will it take for my order to ship?

The waiting is the hardest part! I currently live off the grid in the Sanhedrin wilderness of Northern California. I am powered by the sun, and am subject to mountain weather. I currently need about five business days between receiving your order and being able to ship it out. I have implemented USPS pickups three times per week from my mountain location, and also travel to town on occasion to check my PO Box. I’m am constantly striving to get your package to you as soon as I possibly can. Please know that I am always working like a buzzing bee to get your orders out to you, and I am a one woman show. I grow/harvest/make everything, process, package, and ship everything with my own two hands. I have no employees. You will receive an email with a tracking number just as soon as your package ships. I so appreciate your patience and support. Each item ships with an informative letter/ little hand-written note from me. Occasionally mountain weather will delay my shipments by a few days during the winter months when the roads become impossible to drive on due to dangerous snow and ice. With the pandemic, the post office has sometimes been overwhelmed during holidays/ slower than usual. Some packages may be delayed on their end during these times. If you haven’t received your package for some reason, please follow up via your tracking number or reach out asap and we’ll figure out why! Much love and gratitude for your understanding and patience with my craft and process!

How & why would I work with an extract/tincture?

Extracts/ tinctures provide an easy way to work with herbs, and are a concentrated mode of delivery. They are an effective method of preserving the integrity of sensitive plant constituents/chemicals that may potentially be altered or lost by using alternative methods of preparation. Bodies have an easy time assimilating liquid extracts, and they can simply be added to a small glass of water or juice and drank. You do not need to torture yourself and hold alcohol extracts under your tongue. Extracts have a longer shelf life than bulk dried herbs and many of the extracts that I make allow me to work with fresh homegrown or wildcrafted plant material— straight from the Earth directly to the medicine making process. Encapsulated herbs are usually powdered and can oxidize and degrade quickly. They also absorb after melting through the digestive tract rendering potency inconsistent. With liquid extracts, you can control the dosage precisely as well as absorb them instantly after taking sublingually (by mouth). Extracts are already prepared, are convenient to store and travel with, and can healthily be stored in glass as opposed to plastic. You may add your tincture to hot or cold beverages, though I prefer mine in a small glass of water. Before, during, or after meals— it does not matter unless otherwise specified. I share my dosage suggestions for each herb with your order. I recommend storing your tincture at normal room temperature away from sunshine and simples last longer if kept cold once opened. A general shelf life of an extract is 5 years.

I am now shipping to Canada and the UK! I charge a $25 flat shipping rate. If it ends up being less to ship to you, I will refund the difference. Thank you, and thank you for supporting herbalists near and far!

What if my package is stolen?

Major bummer. Theft is the worst, and sadly it occasionally happens to folks, but in 8 years I’ve only had 3 packages stolen! That’s because I put a protection spell over every box. Anyhoo….I feel for you if this should happen. Unfortunately, I Leilani/ Wild Bruja Apothecary cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen packages that have already left my hands and been marked as delivered by the shipping carrier. It will be your responsibility to file a claim with the postal carrier if your package is stolen. If you live in an area where theft is common/ you are worried that your package may be at risk, please contact me before you place your order, yes BEFORE you order and we can discuss requiring a signature for your package so that it is delivered to you safely. Don’t worry…..Karma is a bitch! If someone steals your package, well….. you know the rest.

How do you package your orders?

I forego branded packaging and purchasing new packaging materials as much as possible and instead choose to ship orders with reused yet clean packing materials. These materials generally come from other packages that I myself have received in the mail from shipments of bulk supplies. It is important to me to utilize materials that already exist as to lessen the impact that I have on creating more waste. Occasionally I will use spare fabric, various types of paper, etc to pack orders. It is important to me that your order arrives to you without incurring any damage, which of course is my primary concern. I also hope that you will feel compelled to reuse or recycle the glass jars/bottles that my products come in. I do not use plastic packaging whatsoever except for the bit that comes on dropper tops for extracts

Can you advise me on which herbs to use for my specific problem or tell me what to do regarding my health issue?

In keeping in compliance with FDA regulations, I am not at liberty to make recommendations towards specific remedies. I am not allowed to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease or claim to do so. Helping people is literally why I do this work. Unfortunately due to the nature of the way we can correspond, laws, and my personal code of ethics- I cannot advise you regarding the decisions that you must make about your own health over the internet. Every person’s health/ body is varied and different & it would be irresponsible of me to advise you on what to do with your own body without taking the time that you deserve to help you comprehensively. I share general information about well-known herbs and how I work with them, but none of the information provided by WildBruja.com is intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any disease or any other health issue. Please do your own research prior to ordering my products, and remember that herbs work differently for different people. I take great care to only sell widely used/ safe plants (omitting many extracts that I keep on hand at home for my personal use). I do my best to provide you with contraindication information and general dosage guidelines. If you have serious questions regarding your health, please contact a professional in your area that can give you the care/ time/ attention that you deserve. Wild Bruja Apothecary will not be held responsible for any adverse effects, reactions, or misuse of my products. Dosage information is a suggestion. Individual use may vary. Please do not buy my products unless you have read the ingredients list and have done research of the herbs that you are buying. Individual health questions received via email will be respectfully declined. I appreciate your understanding, and you deserve the very best care possible!

I entered the wrong mailing address at the time of checkout. What should I do?

Whoops! Contact me at via the form at the bottom of this page as soon as possible with either your order number or the details of what you ordered and the correct shipping address. As long as I have not yet shipped your order I can change it to the correct address. There is usually plenty of time to do this as long as there is little delay to let me know. If you realize the error after the package has been shipped already, using your tracking number, you must contact the shipping carrier and ask them to change the delivery address. Some carriers may charge a fee for this service. If the package has already been delivered to the wrong address, you can try visiting the address if at all possible (but that’s a bit creepy, egh)?. Unfortunately after the package leaves my hands and is en route to its destination, there is nada I can do. Please be sure to have the correct shipping address on file, or make sure that you update it if you move.

Do you accept used glass bottles, jars, etc back?

Unfortunately due to health safety concerns, I do not accept used packaging back from my customers. I encourage you to reuse and recycle the glass from your bottles as much as possible, and am slowly beginning to offer larger sizes.

What if I have allergies, sensitivities, dietary restrictions, am pregnant, lactating, or on prescription medications?

Here are some helpful bits of info for you: Every single item does list each individual ingredient under its description. If you have any questions regarding a specific ingredient, please reach out. The vodka that I use in my extracts is gluten-free. My tooth polish contains Black Walnut Hulls. My body butters contain Shea Nut butter and Coconut Oil sometimes. My body butters contain tallow which is rendered animal fat (not Vegan). All of my skin care formulas are suitable for sensitive skin. The scents in my offerings are achieved by infusing whole plant material and are not overpowering to sensitive people (like me). I do NOT use any essential oils in any of my products except for one—my deodorant balm. If for some reason you are having an adverse reaction to anything, stop taking/using it immediately. If you are pregnant or lactating, it is up to you to research the safety of the herbs you wish to purchase. Whether or not I think they are safe or not does not matter. It is your decision, and one that I cannot make for you. I always list contraindications in the descriptions, but the choice is ultimately yours. There are herbs that I may feel confident in working with if I were pregnant and yet another woman may not. If you are taking prescription drugs it is your responsibility to research if the herb you’d like to purchase will interfere with the specific drug that you are taking. Use at your own risk and please mind my shared dosage suggestions.
