Respiratory Rescue Tea

$15.00

A super effective herbal tea for use in acute situations when the respiratory system needs some help!

6 generously filled large brown chemical-free tea bags without staples (drape over cup) per bag.

To use: Brew a bag in boiling water and let steep for 10 minutes. Add honey or raw milk to taste (this brew is bitter due to the horehound) and sip until finished. May be re-brewed one time. There is enough herb in each bag to make at least 12 cups of potent tea. I suggest brewing the herbs at least 20 minutes on the second brew.

Herbs: Yerba Santa (wildcrafted fresh & dried), Mullein (wildcrafted fresh & dried), Horehound (wildcrafted fresh & dried), Usnea (wildcrafted fresh & dried), Rosemary (homegrown and dried), Licorice Root (organic), Orange Peel (organic, hand cut and dried by me).

Yerba Santa: Eriodictyon californicum, expectorant & antispasmodic. Eridoctyol inhibits mast cell degranulation and may help prevent allergic response.

Mullein: Verbascum thapsus, mild, non-irritating expectorant. Increases activity of the cilia stimulating expectoration of mucus and soothes irritated mucous membranes.

Horehound: Marrubium vulgare, expectorant & cough suppressing herb. Appropriate for spasmodic coughs with viral origins. Extremely bitter tasting.

Usnea: Usnea barbata, Antispasmodic to the lung. Powerfully antibacterial inhibiting gram positive bacteria.

Licorice Root: Glycyrrhiza glabra, Sweet, demulcent to the lungs in the presence dry, irritative coughs. Immune amphoteric, expectorant, antiviral, strengthening to the endocrine system.

Also contains freshly dried organic Orange Peel and freshly dried homegrown Rosemary.

It has been suggested that Licorice Root not be used during pregnancy.
